Lina Srivastava Consulting LLC

Lina Srivastava is the Principal of Lina Srivastava Consulting LLC, a business dedicated to organizational, project and campaign design using media, culture and social innovation to create and demonstrate social impact. The firm leverages cultural expression and cultural identity as a foundational element of social transformation, aiming at positive transformation in communities in which political, social and cultural conditions create imbalance or inequality, or the potential opportunity for economic and cultural growth. Lina, an attorney by training from New York University School of Law, practiced intellectual property law before founding her company. She is a first-mover in transmedia for social issue content-- coining the phrase "transmedia activism," creating the Transmedia Activism framework, co-directing the Transmedia Activism Design Group -- and has been involved in successful cross-media campaigns for several documentaries, including Oscar-winning Born into Brothels (through her work as Executive Director of the related nonprofit organization Kids with Cameras) and the Emmy-nominated The Devil Came on Horseback, for which she advised on engagement, distribution and content strategy. The former Executive Director of Kids with Cameras, and the past Interim Executive Director of the Association of Video and Filmmakers, she is currently the strategist for Three Generations and a partner in the social change strategy team for the Resist Network. The Team

David Lerner, Co-Founder and President

David Lerner has over twenty years of hands-on experience in media advocacy for human rights and social justice causes. From advising clients on the best strategy to implementing multi-dimensional communications campaigns, David is one of the top publicists in his field.  At age 17 David spent several months observing William Kunstler defend 4 young men on trial for a crime they didn’t commit.  Bill didn’t always win the day in court but, it seemed, he always won the battle for headlines.  The jury came back hung but as a result of the public attention to the underlying justice, the 4 men were freed.  David took note and after living abroad in both Europe and Latin America, he co-founded Riptide with the poet Kathy Engel.  He is proficient in Spanish and harbors a dream of learning Greek, or at least mastering the alphabet!
