Riptide designed and executed PT’s communications strategy opposing the controversial congressional hearings on the so-called “radicalization” of America Muslims. We helped Peaceful Tomorrows spokesperson, Talat Hamdani, an American Muslim mom who lost her first-responder son on 9/11, gain a spotlight in the media to convey her experiences of hate and discrimination in the aftermath of 9/11. Rep. Keith Ellison’s emotional recounting of her son’s story became the lasting image from the hearings. Riptide galvanized PT’s rapid response to the news that Osama Bin Laden was killed garnering wide attention to their messages of peace and justice. Riptide also assisted in developing and launching their overall effort in support of civilian trials for terror suspects as part of their Rule of Law project.
